While on Twitter I was Discussing Saturn’s ingress into Scorpio with some fellow Astrologers. With Saturn being the master of time, We were all wondering how we would be dealing with this new energy. There always seems to be a sense of gloom when talking about Saturn. Saturn in Scorpio for me represents phoenix-esque transformation. We’ll be maturing when it comes to certain aspects of our lives. I anticipate many of us withdrawing to work on internal issues. The opposite of Scorpio is Taurus: Pluto Vs. Venus. The dark, intuitive spirituality of Scorpio Vs. the Venusian earthly security of Taurus.
This all Brings me to Singer/Performer Chris Brown who is a Taurus. Transiting Saturn in Scorpio is approaching a conjunction to his IC at 6 degrees Scorpio. He has some powerful aspects in his chart and I wanted to take the time to discuss some of the internal struggles he seems to be dealing with since childhood.
Chris was born Christopher Maurice Brown on May 5th 1989 at 12:30 PM in Tappahannock, Virginia. Chris has an extremely fixed chart with the majority of his Planets being in Taurus (Sun, Moon, Venus and the Asteroid Ceres) Capricorn (VX, Uranus, Neptune Saturn and the Asteroid Vesta) and Leo (His ascendant @ 14 degrees Leo along with Part of Fortune and the Asteroid Juno) Chris’s highly fixed nature makes him stubborn and quite resistant to change and this has created a tremendous amount of stress in his personal life. Interesting enough, Chris definitely has the chart of an artist. Venus rules the MC/10th house which represents ones vocation and public image. In the beginning, Chris was hailed for his dancing skills, stage presence and good looks. All of these are very Venusian in nature. Both luminaries (Sun/Moon) trine his Neptune in Capricorn in the 5th house of creativity giving Chris high hopes and a glamourized image of himself. Yet Sun/Neptune aspects can also create issues surrounding self-deception and flat out delusion.
What stood out the most for me is Chris’ Pluto in Scorpio Rx in the 4th house. Pluto in this house can indicate dark family secrets and often Violence. Pluto opposes his Sun, Venus and Moon in Taurus indicating an individual who is obsessive, compulsive when it comes to his affections and has issues with control and power. Pluto’s tight opposition to the Sun reveals a powerful/controlling father figure as well. Chris’ parents divorced when he was younger and he was subjected to the abuse his mother (Moon) received from her boyfriend. His Mars is in its fall in Cancer opposite Uranus, Neptune and Saturn in Capricorn. These all point to issues surrounding dominance, sudden violence and fear of competition.
Transiting Pluto in Capricorn is currently conjunct his Uranus and opposite his Mars/Chiron conjunction in Cancer. This is a challenging time for Chris creating feelings of rebellion. He has to be careful of being self righteous (Which he struggles with anyway) while Pluto/Uranus aspects can be difficult he can use this energy to come to terms with the pain and violence surrounding his childhood. His Chiron (Wounds) is being triggered by Pluto and this may be causing a lot of painful issues from his past to resurface. Pluto will Trine both his Sun and Moon around late February of 2014 creating major transformation and crisis. Chris is in store for a huge wake-up call. Pluto will obliterate anything that is no longer of use to us ushering in drastic change, whether we want it or not! Saturn will also enter his 4th house around mid-December of this year. His home/family life may be in crisis in some way shape or form as well, forcing him to face some of his internal demons head on. He can run, but he cannot hide and hopefully he’ll come out of all of this wiser and more self aware.
Later on this week I’ll be discussing Saturn in Scorpio in more detail and Mars in Sagittarius…
Apparently, as reported in the news, Chris is orbiting about Rihanna’s planet — or is it vice versa? Astrology and a bit of Shakespeare as in star-crossed lovers –pun intended.
